The cottage is approached from the harbour, by a good 200 metre track across the fields, with 2 gates. There are mountains, moorland and sea all around. A few other houses are scattered about. The cottage was renovated in 1987 and still retains much of its original character. It is simply but fully furnished. The bedroom upstairs has twin beds. There are views from here to Bentee to the south and across Dingle Bay to Mount Brandon to the north.
The downstairs bedroom has a king size double bed. There is free view Satellite TV, DVD player and a Radio and CD player. There are French doors opening out to the garden. On sunny days this is a lovely area to sit or eat outside. The kitchen is fully equipped and has seating for 4 people at the table.
Cooking is by gas.Gas is included in the price. The bathroom is downstairs. The shower is above the bath. Heating is by storage heaters, solid fuel stove and/or electric fires and storage heaters. Electricity is paid for by the unit. Usually the electricity cost is only a few euro. Bed linen and towels are available at €10 per set. I need to know beforehand if you require this.
It has plenty of shops, pubs, places to eat out. Almost every evening in the summer there will be live music at one of the venues in town. There is also bicycle hire here. There are good golf courses at Waterville and also horse riding. Kerry Airport is 1 hour's drive away. There is one plane a day from Dublin plus services from other places. Killarney is just over an hour's drive. There are 3 buses a day from Killarney to Cahirciveen.
